Us wingers to have fitness tests, Tudur-Jones to make debut

Colchester United will check on the fitness of two players as Swindon Town look to give Owain Tudur-Jones his debut. Mark Yeates and Lewis Gobern both missed Saturday's 1-0 win at Oldham and the wingers will have fitness tests. Midfielder Johnnie Jackson resumed training on Friday following six weeks out with a shoulder injury but he will be short of match fitness. Defender Pat Baldwin picked up an ankle knock at Oldham but was able to finish the game and should be okay. Fellow centre-half Paul Reid is still out with an injury to his kneecap which could see him sidelined for a few weeks.

Swindon news

Swindon have signed Tudur-Jones on an initial month-long loan deal and he will go straight into Danny Wilson's squad. The Swansea midfielder, who spent time on the sidelines with a knee injury not long after arriving in the Welsh capital back in 2005, has found opportunities limited in Roberto Martinez's side but last featured as a second-half substitute in their FA Cup fifth-round replay against Fulham almost two weeks ago. Kevin Amankwaah is expected to retain his place despite suffering with an ankle problem during Saturday's 1-1 draw against MK Dons, while fellow defender Sean Morrison should also be available after coming off with cramp. Jack Smith will need a late fitness test on a hamstring problem but Patrick Kanyuka (groin), Lee Peacock (back), Craig Easton (calf) and Jon-Paul McGovern (ankle) remain out.
