Struggling Yeovil produced a battling away performance to hold promotion-chasing Colchester United to a 0-0 draw.
The first half was an uneventful affair which Yeovil shaded but lacked an end product to their play. Former Colchester player Adam Virgo saw his long-range free-kick saved by U's goalkeeper Ben Williams, while Nathan Smith's 30-yard blockbuster flashed inches wide for the Glovers. Kayode Odejayi headed over from a corner for the home side and Anthony Wordsworth poked wide from close range before the break. It was a similar story in the second half, with very little in the way of goalmouth action. Colchester went agonisingly close when Odejayi saw his close-range effort tipped onto the crossbar brilliantly by Yeovil goalkeeper John Sullivan. And at the other end, Ben Williams palmed over Smith's fine long-range shot and then made a superb save to deny Glovers substitute Adam Phillip in stoppage-time but neither side could break the deadlock.
