Rochdale grabbed late penalty to take a narrow 1-0 Sky Bet League One win against Coventry at the Ricoh.
Keith Hill's men staged an excellent second-half showing at the Ricoh and were denied by some harsh luck and good goalkeeping - right until the 89th minute.
Chris Stokes brought down Ian Henderson just inside the area, and the striker kept his cool to score from the spot.
Until that moment the game had looked for all the world to be a stalemate.
Central defender Ashely Eastham came closest to scoring - when his header from a corner was blocked on the line by team-mate Henderson.
The corner came after Jim McNulty's shot was kept out by keeper Reice Charles-Cook.
Josh Lillis had kept his side in the hunt with a striker of impressive saves. The keeper denied Joe Cole in the 16th minute and then on the half-hour, teenager James Maddison made space by nutmegging a defender before unleashing a right-footed shot.
Henderson fired home his spot-kick before - right at the death - Lillis flung himself into a full-length save to keep out a full-blooded shot by Adam Armstrong.
