Team news ahead of Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash between Dagenham and Redbridge and Coventry at The L.B Barking & Dagenham Stadium.

Kevin Maher is Dagenham & Redbridge's only absentee. Maher has been forced to undergo another operation to insert a different screw into the pin in his foot to help solve the metatarsal injury which ruled him out for most of last season. It is hoped the midfielder should be available again within the next couple of weeks. Otherwise, manager John Still has a fully-fit squad to select from as Dagenham aim to win their first-ever League Cup match in what will be their sixth attempt. Striker Dwight Gayle is likely to start his first competitive match for the Daggers. The highly-rated 22-year-old has scored 99 goals in the past two seasons for non-league sides Stansted and Bishop's Stortford and has found the net four times in three pre-season starts for Dagenham. Adam Barton will be sidelined for the cup encounter. The midfielder, a recent arrival from Preston, missed the final months of last season with a dislocated ankle and broken leg. And having only recently returned to action, Barton has now been called up for international duty with the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side. It is a decision which has baffled manager Andy Thorn, who told the Coventry Telegraph: "Some bright spark decided he's fit for international football when he hasn't played a game for six months, which is absolutely incredible." Summer signing John Fleck misses out with a slight hamstring complaint sustained during pre-season, as do mlong-term absentees Cyrus Christie (knee), Conor Thomas (ankle) and David Bell (hip). Nathan Cameron (knee) has recently returned to training but he is not expected to be risked.
