Exeter v Gillingham preview

Image: Tisdale: Gills clash

Exeter host Gillingham at St James Park in League Two on Saturday.

Tisdale to stick with winning side; Stimson now without Daniels

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale is likely to keep faith with a winning team when Gillingham visit St James Park, while Gills boss Mark Stimson will be forced into making changes. Tisdale continued to chop and change his formation by switching to a 4-3-3 against Macclesfield last weekend and it reaped rewards as the Grecians earned an impressive 4-1 win. Richard Logan was brought into the starting line-up to play alongside Adam Stansfield - who scored twice - and Marcus Stewart in attack, and the same trio are likely to start against the Gills. That means Liam Sercombe will again have to settle for a place on the bench, while Tisdale's attacking options have been boosted by the return of Craig McAllister from a three-match suspension. The Grecians have not met the Gills since 1996, and the Kent club are without a win at St James Park in almost 47 years.

Gills team news

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson will be forced to change a winning side when he takes his team to Exeter after Charlie Daniels returned to Spurs. The winger impressed during his month with the Gills but decided to return to White Hart Lane in order to try and force his way into the first-team reckoning at his parent club. His place on the left is likely to go to Albert Jarrett, who came off the bench to make his debut in the 1-0 win over Port Vale last weekend. Stimson is still short of options in attack, with Mark McCammon serving the second instalment of his three-game ban and Gary Mulligan (knee) and Dennis Oli (foot) still not ready to return. That means another Spurs loanee, Andy Barcham, will keep his place in attack alongside Simeon Jackson after a man-of-the match performance on his debut against Vale. Stimson has also hinted there could be a place on the bench for one of the club's promising youngsters, with wingers Tayler Thomas and Rory Hill and midfielder Luke Rooney among those who could be in the travelling squad.
