Russia closed the gap on Group 4 leaders Germany with a 3-0 victory over Finland in Helsinki. Alexander Kerzhakov set Guus Hiddink's men on their way with the opener on 26 minutes. Kerzhakov doubled the advantage eight minutes after the break and Konstantin Zyryanov added a third 19 minutes from time. The win moves Russia one point behind Germany and five ahead of Finland in the race to reach South Africa next summer.
