Midfielder Dayle Grubb is out with a knee injury as Forest Green face League Two automatic promotion hopefuls Bury.
Grubb missed the goalless draw at Oldham following the injury sustained in training. Reading goalkeeper Lewis Ward is in contention after signing on loan until the end of the season. New signings Shawn McCoulsky and Junior Mondal could make their first starts after being named as substitutes at Oldham.
Bury boss Ryan Lowe is expected to stick with a similar line-up after his side came from 3-1 down to beat MK Dons 4-3 last week. Defender Eoghan O'Connell and forward Byron Moore could come into the starting line-up after their introductions early in the second half against the Dons.
Caolan Lavery picked up a hamstring injury in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Accrington - missing the Dons win - and is set to miss out again. Nicky Maynard replaced Lavery on that occasion and appears likely to start alongside in-form striker Dom Telford.
The only previous Football League meeting between Forest Green and Bury came in the reverse fixture this season, a 1-1 draw.
Both of Forest Green Rovers boss Mark Cooper's previous Football League matches against Bury as a manager have ended as draws.
Forest Green Rovers are unbeaten in their last six league games (W4 D2), conceding just five goals in total during this period.
Bury have kept back to back away clean sheets (W1 D1) - the Shakers last went longer without conceding away from home in the Football League back in March 2017 whilst in League One (run of three games).
Jay O'Shea has been directly involved in 13 League Two goals for Bury in 2018/19 (10 goals, 3 assists) - more than any other teammate.
