Julien Faubert scored the winner as Bordeaux moved up to seventh in Ligue 1 following a 1-0 victory over Guingamp in a fiesty clash at Stade du Roudourou. The 30-year-old France defender netted midway through the first half as Les Girondins claimed their second successive league win following Saturday's 4-0 result over Ajaccio. But their victory was soured by Lucas Orban's dismissal 10 minutes after the break before Claudiu Beauvue was sent off in the dying minutes for the away side, who have dropped to ninth in the table. Bordeaux started the game well and Jussie brought the ball up on the right and crossed toward the edge of the penalty area to find Gregory Sertic, but visiting goalkeeper Ndy Assembe managed to deflect the ball to safety. Sertic came close to setting up the opener after 19 minutes as his free-kick from 30 yards found the head of Henrique in the box, forcing Assembe to put in a block on the line. And the Guingamp stopper was made to work again three minutes later as he kept out Henri Saivet's powerful close-range effort. But the home side's dominance paid off moments later as Sertic delivered a superb ball toward Faubert on the right of the penalty area and the defender shot while running to slide the ball between Assembe's legs and into the back of the net. Jocelyn Gourvennec's visitors finally had their first chance of the match around the half-hour mark as Mathis combined with Ladislas Douniama on the right before Douniama took a shot on goal from the edge of the penalty area, but keeper Cedric Carrasso made a diving save to keep the ball out. Both sides took a while to get going in the second half and Argentina international Orban received his second yellow card for an elbow on Beauvue after 54 minutes. The away side tried to make use of their man advantage and Younousse Sankhare delivered a perfect ball toward Steeven Langil in front of the Bordeaux goal, who fired in a great chance to level only for Carrasso to deny them again. Just minutes later Les Girondins came forward in an attempt to add a second as Henrique crossed toward Sertic from the edge of the box but Assembe was well placed to hold it out. Deep into the second half, Langil released Cedric Faure as Guingamp tried to force an equaliser but his thunderbolt hit the crossbar. And to end their disappointing night, Beauvue was sent off for a nasty tackle on Nguemo in the last minute of the game.
