Image: Sweeney: Faces late test for Pools

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League One clash between Hartlepool and Tranmere at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool midfielder Antony Sweeney is in a fitness race. Sweeney missed Saturday's 3-2 win at Chesterfield with a groin strain and remains doubtful, so Nathan Luscombe could continue if he fails to make it. Pools will definitely be without winger Nolberto Solano, who has missed the last two games due to a hamstring strain sustained in the recent defeat at Notts County, and striker Colin Larkin is another absentee as he works his way back from a knee injury. James Brown featured from the substitutes' bench for the last half an hour at Chesterfield and will be hoping to play a bigger role against Tranmere. The striker has yet to start a game for Pools this season. Wadsworth's side halted a run of three straight league defeats with victory at Chesterfield and climbed up to seventh in the table with a game in hand on their rivals. Tranmere manager Les Parry will monitor the fitness of Enoch Showunmi before naming his squad for the trip. The striker suffered a groin injury during Saturday's 2-1 win over Walsall and failed to participate in training the following day. "We're going to have to leave Enoch until the last minute and see how he is," Parry confirmed on the club's official website. If Showumni is ruled out, Mustafa Tiryaki could partner Jose Baxter, who is set to have his loan stay from Everton extended by a further month, in attack after coming off the bench to score the winner at the weekend. Parry is without a trio of players for the game at Victoria Park. Midfielders Andy Robinson and Martin Devaney both miss out with hamstring injuries, while defender Mark McChrystal is still struggling with a foot problem.
