First match for Ternent, Gleeson worry for Hatters
Stan Ternent takes charge of Huddersfield Town for the first time against Stockport County, who could be without new signing Stephen Gleeson.
Since being appointed towards the end of last season, Ternent has been overhauling his squad and could give debuts to six recent recruits.
Gary Roberts, Michael Flynn, Keigan Parker, Jim Goodwin, Andy Butler and Chris Lucketti are vying for places, while fit-again Danny Cadamarteri is expected to feature.
Young striker Danny Broadbent (ankle) is the only first-team squad member who has been ruled out, with the veteran Andy Booth available for selection.
Stockport news
Stockport may be without Gleeson, who has joined on loan from Wolves, due to the midfielder struggling with a toe problem.
Manager Jim Gannon could also hand debuts to four new players in Carl Baker, Peter Thompson, Johnny Mullins and Owain fon Williams.
However, while that quartet could feature at the Galpharm Stadium, three midfielders may miss the League One opener.
Jason Taylor is definitely out of action for around eight weeks, but Dominic Blizzard and Paul Turnbull should both return to full training before the weekend and may yet feature.
