Michael Collins' last-gasp winner gave Huddersfield a 2-1 victory over Walsall at the Galpharm Stadium.

Huddersfield down Walsall 2-1

Michael Collins' last-gasp winner gave Huddersfield their third success in four League One matches as they ran out 2-1 winners over Walsall at the Galpharm Stadium. Collins, who has now scored four goals in his last five outings, latched on to Ian Craney's deft back-heel to rifle a shot beyond Walsall goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin. Huddersfield almost took the lead after 15 minutes when Danny Cadamarteri's rasping left-foot drive was superbly tipped away for a corner by Gilmartin. The hosts did break the deadlock 11 minutes later when Collins was unceremoniously bundled over in the penalty area by the Saddlers' Rhys Weston, and Gary Roberts' coolly converted the resulting spot-kick. The Terriers' were caught cold four minutes after the break as Walsall's Alex Nicholls equalised with a spectacular 25-yard volley which gave home debutant Alex Smithies no chance. Nicholls' stunning leveller appeared to have knocked the stuffing out of Huddersfield and Walsall striker Jabo Ibehre blew two chances late on when drove off target when well placed and saw a header cleared off the line by Huddersfield's Craney.
