Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice as LA Galaxy beat Vancouver 3-0 in the MLS.
LA Galaxy made the perfect start as Ibrahimovic converted from the spot for his 19th goal of the season after Romain Alessandrini brought down Marcel de Jong.
Ten minutes later and Ibrahimovic almost had his second, sending a free-kick inches wide of the post.
It was not long before the former Manchester United striker made amends and grabbed his second of the game.
In the 58th minute, he ghosted past the challenge of Ali Ghazal before firing into the roof of the net to extend Galaxy's lead.
Ibrahimovic's night was not over there. The Swedish striker was brought down in the penalty area by Doneil Henry for LA Galaxy's second penalty of the game.
Alessandrini stepped up to secure all three points for LA Galaxy, who are still in the hunt for a play-off position.
Wayne Rooney produced a man-of-the-match performance, scoring twice as DC United moved a step closer to the sixth and final play-off spot in the MLS with a 5-0 victory against Montreal Impact.
Elsewhere, Toronto beat New England 4-1 at BMO Field, while Angelo Rodriguez's double helped Minnesota United edge past New York City 2-1 at TCF Bank Stadium.
Houston Dynamo fought back from two goals down to beat San Jose Earthquakes 3-2 at the BBVA Compass Stadium, Romell Quioto scoring the winning goal in the 87th minute to secure all three points for the hosts.
Finally, there were two goalless draws between the Colombus Crew and the Philadelphia Union and the Portland Timbers and Dallas.
