Howard worry for Foxes, Crosby in line for Iron place

Steve Howard is a doubt for Leicester City's promotion party as Scunthorpe United prepare to give a surprise recall to Andy Crosby. Having clinched the League One title last weekend, Leicester will be presented with the trophy at the end of their final home game of the season. Howard, voted the player of the year by Foxes fans this week, was ruled out with a virus as Nigel Pearson's side secured an immediate return to the Championship with a 2-0 victory at Southend last Saturday. The 15-goal striker resumed training on Wednesday and a decision will be made on his fitness nearer the time. Paul Dickov should continue to partner leading scorer Matty Fryatt in attack should the 32-year-old not make it. Pearson could make some changes to his side, with goalkeeper Tony Warner, defenders Patrick Kisnorbo and Bruno Berner and midfielder Astrit Ajdarevic among the players who could come into the reckoning.

Scunthorpe news

Veteran defender Crosby could come into Scunthorpe's side as the Iron look to boost their play-off hopes at the Walkers Stadium. The 36-year-old player-assistant manager has only made five appearances for Nigel Adkins' side this season, but with the manager keen to shore up a defence that leaked three goals at Northampton on Tuesday, Crosby is poised for a surprise call-up. Left-back Marcus Williams is out after being unable to train because of a virus and Kenny Milne (knee) is a long-term absentee. Winger Garry Thompson comes into contention after making a goalscoring comeback from a hernia injury for the reserves on Tuesday, while on-loan Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury has recovered from the ankle problem that forced him to miss the draw with Northampton. On-loan defender Joseph Mills is also fit after an ankle knock, while Sam Togwell is pushing for a return in midfield after serving a two-game suspension.
