Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will miss Sunday's Premier League clash at home to West Brom after fracturing a bone in one of his hands against FC Copenhagen in midweek.

Summer signing Ron-Robert Zieler will get a run in the team as Schmeichel looks likely to be sidelined for between four and six weeks, having undergone surgery.

West Brom, meanwhile, will be without club record signing Nacer Chadli for the trip to the King Power Stadium.

The midfielder has undergone an operation to remove some cartilage from his knee and it is hoped he will be fit again after the two-week international break that follows this weekend's fixtures.

Team news

Leicester striker Islam Slimani is expected to return to the squad after a thigh injury while boss Claudio Ranieri hinted at changes to his starting line-up.

Leicester have won none of their last six home league games against West Brom (D2 L4), last beating them at home in January 1994 (4-2).

The Baggies have scored in all but one of their last 25 visits to face Leicester in league competition - a 0-3 defeat at Filbert Street in October 1987.

West Brom have scored exactly twice in each of their last three Premier League games against Leicester, though they've failed to win any of them (D1 L2).

Salomon Rondon scored in the two Premier League meetings between these sides last season, opening the scoring on both occasions for WBA.

Nacer Chadli has been involved in six of the eight goals that West Brom have scored since he made his debut for the club (four goals, two assists).

Seven of the 10 goals that West Bromwich Albion have scored have come from set-pieces (70 per cent), with five of these arriving from corner situations (50 per cent) - both are league-highs.

Leicester have won 11 of their 12 Premier League points so far this season at home (92 per cent).

Paul Merson's prediction

West Brom didn't deserve to lose by four against Manchester City. If they can create that many chances and play like they did in patches in that game they will cause Leicester problems. They're good at set-pieces and Leicester have struggled from them this season.

Watch highlights of Leicester's 1-1 draw at Tottenham

Leicester have looked more like themselves in recent weeks with a couple of good results. I thought they would do a bit better in the league this season because they're still a good team, but I think people have sussed them out a bit. I think they'll still edge this one, though.

Paul predicts: Leicester 2-1 West Brom (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Betting

Leicester showed a little more of their champion sprint when fighting back from a goal down to draw with Tottenham last weekend and are 3/4 favourites to see off West Brom, having all but secured their place in the Champions League last-16 in midweek.
