Elliot Benyon's double gave Torquay three points as the Gulls extended their club-record run with a 2-0 win at Lincoln.
The well-deserved victory means Torquay have not conceded a goal in their last nine league games going back to the start of April - an entire 871 minutes. The visitors were on top from the start and were rewarded in the 25th minute when Benyon got in front of his marker to head home a Kevin Nicholson free-kick. Imps striker Drewe Broughton twice shot over from good positions while Gavin McCallum found the net only for his effort to be disallowed for offside. Despite Lincoln's efforts it was Torquay who looked the more dangerous team and they increased their lead after 71 minutes when Benyon was left unmarked to convert a cross from Chris Zebroski. The nearest Lincoln came to scoring was 15 minutes from time when sub Delroy Facey forced an excellent save out of United keeper Scott Bevan.
