Macclesfield vs Newport preview

Macclesfield will check on Nathan Cameron before they host Newport.
The defender suffered an ankle injury late on during the Silkmen's 3-1 defeat at Northampton on Friday. Despite the defeat, Sol Campbell's side remain two points clear of the relegation zone with three games to play.
Campbell has no other fresh injuries to contend with but may freshen up his side for the second game of the Easter weekend.
Newport boss Mike Flynn will check on Jamille Matt and Matthew Dolan. Matt came off at half-time of Friday's 3-1 win over Bury due to a dead leg while Dolan was withdrawn with cramp during the second half.
Flynn is unlikely to make any enforced changes as his side continue their late charge for a play-off place. Friday's victory was a fourth win of a six-game unbeaten run that has left County just two points off the top seven.
This will be just the second league meeting between Macclesfield and Newport Country; the reverse fixture finished 3-3 back in October 2018.
Macclesfield are unbeaten in their last nine meetings with Welsh sides in all competitions (W5 D4) since a 1-2 defeat to Cardiff City in a League Cup second round match in September 2005.
Macclesfield have both scored and conceded in their last nine home league games (W2 D5 L2). In those games, the Silkmen are unbeaten in five when conceding first (W2 D3), and winless in four when scoring first (D2 L2).
Newport have won their last two away league games, earning more points than they had in their previous 14 on the road (W1 D2 L11).
Padraig Amond has been directly involved in 38% of Newport's 26 away league goals this season (8 goals, 2 assists).
