Rajiv Van La Parra will be handed his first appearance for Middlesbrough when they take on Peterborough in the FA Cup third round this weekend.
The Dutch forward officially joined on loan until the end of the season from Huddersfield on New Year's Day and boss Tony Pulis has confirmed he will start against United.
At the other end of the pitch, Aden Flint will miss out after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm-up against Derby while Ryan Shotton (knee) and Daniel Ayala (knock) are both struggling. That means Boro's youngest ever player, 16-year-old Nathan Wood, is likely to be drafted into the squad.
Peterborough manager Steve Evans is confident his side can cause an upset at the Riverside. Posh will be without suspended winger Marcus Maddison after he picked up a sixth yellow card in the last nine games on New Year's Day.
However, centre-back Ryan Tafazolli is expected to recover from a dead leg that forced him off against Scunthorpe. Defender Dan Lafferty is expected to go straight into the squad after signing on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season.
This will be just the second FA Cup meeting between Middlesbrough and Peterborough, with Middlesbrough progressing following a replay in the 1974-75 fifth round.
In all competitions, this will be the first meeting between Middlesbrough and Peterborough since April 2013, a 0-0 draw in the Championship.
Middlesbrough have won their last seven FA Cup matches against sides from a lower division, since losing against Burton Albion in the 2010-11 third round.
Peterborough have scored in their last 18 FA Cup matches, netting 42 goals in total.
