Millwall v Bolton preview

NORTHAMPTON, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 15: Lee Gregory of Millwall in action during the Sky Bet League One match between Northampton Town and Millwall at Sixfield

Millwall's Lee Gregory and Jake Cooper are injury doubts for Saturday's Championship fixture at home to Bolton.

Gregory has a hamstring problem, while Cooper is nursing an ankle injury. Fred Onyedinma and Tom Elliott are in contention to replace the former, while Byron Webster is expected to come in if Cooper is ruled out.

Elliott's goals in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat of Stevenage likely make him the favourite. Recent signing Ryan Tunnicliffe could also make manager Neil Harris' squad for the first time.

Bolton are set to bring back a host of first-team players they rested at Crewe in midweek. Goalkeeper Mark Howard, defenders Andrew Taylor and Dorian Dervite, and strikers Adam Le Fondre and Gary Madine were among those missing from the starting line-up which featured against Leeds three days earlier.

Captain Darren Pratley (virus) and Filipe Morais (knee) made their comebacks in the Carabao Cup and will swell Phil Parkinson's paper-thin squad. Both Josh Vela (ankle) and David Wheater (back) picked up injuries in Wanderers' opening game to join Sammy Ameobi (knee) on the sidelines.

Prutton's prediction

A battle between two of the promoted sides. The Millwall front two of Lee Gregory and Steve Morison against Bolton's defence should make for a good game. Neil Harris' side were quite unlucky in their opener against Nottingham Forest and they'll want to put that right here and show they've got enough to compete in the Championship.

Bolton look a little stretched in terms of their squad and, for me, Millwall will shade this one.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (15/2 with Sky Bet)
