Highlights of Burnley's 5-0 win over MK Dons in the Sky Bet Championship

Andre Gray netted his fifth goal in as many Sky Bet Championship appearances as a 5-0 victory at MK Dons ended Burnley's run of five away league games without a win in style.

Joey Barton opened the scoring at stadium mk before Sam Vokes, Gray, Matt Lowton and George Boyd each found the net in the second half, while Anthony Kay saw red late on to compound the hosts' misery.

Barton broke the deadlock after 13 minutes, stealing the ball off the toe of Darren Potter before coolly slotting past David Martin for his first Clarets goal.

Two minutes later and some good work from Michael Kightly nearly found Vokes in the penalty area but the Wales striker could not get a solid connection and his header trickled wide.

Nicky Maynard nearly levelled the scores after 18 minutes, when some tricky footwork and a good cross from Josh Murphy found the former Cardiff man, but his shot was fired straight down the throat of Tom Heaton.

Maynard had scored in each of the Dons' last two home games and looked like getting another when Rob Hall played him in on the half-hour mark, but his shot could only sting the palms of Heaton.

Burnley are the only Championship side yet to drop a point from leading positions this season, and it looked even less likely early in the second half when Vokes danced through the visitors' defence before finishing past Martin to double the Clarets' lead.

The Dons' only second-half spark came from Norwich loanee Murphy, who linked up well with Hall on the hour mark, before the youngster fired across goal but Maynard could not find a finishing touch at the back post.

Championship top scorer Gray, back in Burnley's side after missing the FA Cup tie at the weekend with a broken finger, sealed the Clarets' three points after heading Barton's free-kick past Martin from close range in the 64th minute.

Lowton piled more misery on the Dons when he got on the end of substitute Boyd's low cross to drill the ball past Martin for his first goal in a Burnley shirt.

Just when Karl Robinson thought his Tuesday night could not get any worse, Boyd was brought down by last man Kay after 76 minutes and the Dons defender was shown a straight red card.

And the rout was rounded off with nine minutes left when Gray and Boyd linked up before the former Hull midfielder buried his shot into the roof of the goal.

With five minutes left, substitute Rouwen Hennings broke through on goal but the German striker blazed his shot over from close range and was unable to add to Burnley's fantastic five.
