MK Dons keeper Lee Nicholls denied Jordy Hiwula from the penalty spot to preserve a goalless draw with Coventry which put an end to the home side's five-game losing run.
Paul Tisdale was unable to name a striker among his starting line-up, such is MK Dons' present injury woes - and his men were forced to put in a shift to earn a share of the spoils.
The visitors, now winless in four, wasted a decent opportunity when Sam McCallum's cross into the six-yard box was met by frontman Amadou Bakayoko, whose header flew inches wide of goal.
Coventry were awarded a penalty when Dons keeper Nicholls brought down Hiwula inside the box, only for the Sky Blues man to then watch Nicholls pull off a decent save to keep things level.
The home side's first shot on goal followed minutes later when Hiram Boateng's half-volley from inside the visitors' box forced keeper Marko Marosi into action.
Marosi could only watch when Ben Reeves' long-range effort smacked off the underside of the Coventry crossbar late on, as things ended goalless.
