Willy Gueret will serve the second game of his three-match ban after he was sent off against Cheltenham, so on-loan Derby goalkeeper Lewis Price will keep his place between the sticks after an impressive debut against Leyton Orient.
Di Matteo will also be without on-loan Chelsea defender Shaun Cummings after he was sent off in the 2-1 win at Brisbane Road and will serve a one-match suspension.
Striker Aaron Wilbraham (ankle) and midfielder Florian Sturm (groin) have stepped up their return from recent injuries in training, but the best they can hope for is a place on the bench.
Winger Craig Dobson is out with a stress fracture while defender Danny Swailes is out until the New Year as he continues his rehabilitation from an operation on his Achilles.
