Morecambe v Barnet preview

Image: Jevons: Back for Shrimps after injury

Morecambe striker Phil Jevons will be available again for the home clash with Barnet on Saturday.

Shrimps welcome back Jevons

Morecambe striker Phil Jevons will be available again for the home clash with Barnet. The experienced forward has missed the last two games after suffering a head injury in the defeat at Oxford. Jevons may have to wait for a recall after Paul Mullin opened his account for the season last week as Morecambe picked up their first win of the campaign. Defender Laurence Wilson could be recalled to the squad after missing the Southend win as new signing Tony Capaldi made his debut. Rookie forward Jimmy Spencer may push for a starting role after he came off the bench to score the winner in last weekend's victory at Southend. Boss Sammy McIlroy said: "Jimmy has been on the fringes since he has been here but he has a lot of ability."

Poole boost

Glenn Poole should be fit for Barnet. The winger has been receiving treatment for a thigh injury all week but returned to training on Thursday. The Bees are still awaiting the results of a scan on the ankle injury suffered by defender Daniel Leach last weekend. Leach left Underhill on crutches following the 4-1 defeat by Rotherham and is not expected to figure at the Globe Arena, with Clovis Kamdjo his likely replacement. Striker Chris Taylor has shaken off a groin problem and is in contention but centre-half Daniel Dennehy remains sidelined by a foot injury. Charlie Stimson hit a hat-trick for the reserves in midweek to push his claims for a place.
