Newport will check on top scorer Padraig Amond ahead of the visit of Tranmere.
Amond, looking to make his 100th appearance for the club, missed last weekend's 3-1 win at Yeovil with a shoulder injury.
Scot Bennett also sat out through injury but he is not far from returning. Left-back Vashon Neufville has returned to West Ham following his loan spell with the Exiles.
Tranmere will be without Luke McCullough for the rest of the season after the midfielder suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury. The Northern Ireland international sustained the injury early on in the 3-0 win against Carlisle on Saturday.
Jay Harris replaced the Doncaster loanee in the midweek defeat at Oldham. Ishmael Miller remains on the sidelines for Rovers.
Newport County are looking to do a Football League double over Tranmere Rovers for the first time since 1979-80, having won the reverse fixture 1-0 in September 2018.
Tranmere have only lost one of their last nine away Football League matches against Newport County (W5 D3), a 2-0 loss in October 1979.
Newport have conceded just a single goal in their last eight League Two matches at Rodney Parade (W4 D2 L1), Chuks Aneke's winner for MK Dons in their 1-0 victory back in December.
Tranmere have lost just one of their last 10 league games (W8 D1), though it was in their midweek trip to Oldham, ending a run of seven straight League Two victories.
Padraig Amond has been directly involved in 20 goals for Newport in 37 League Two games this season (13 goals, 7 assists) - more than he managed in 43 league appearances last season (16 - 13 goals, 3 assists).
