Jakob Haugaard is in line to make his Premier League debut in goal for Stoke City in Saturday's home game against Swansea City.
The 23-year-old Denmark U20 international joined the Potters on a three-year contract from FC Midtjylland last summer.
He made two first-team appearances for Stoke in the FA Cup in January - the 2-1 third-round victory at Doncaster and the 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in the fourth round.
Haugaard now looks set to feature against the Swans at the Britannia Stadium after Stoke's first-choice goalkeeper Jack Butland was ruled out for three months.
Butland will lose his ever-present record for Mark Hughes' side in the Premier League this season after suffering a fractured ankle during England's 3-2 win in Germany at the weekend.
Haugaard has covered for Butland on the substitutes' bench since Shay Given was ruled out with a knee injury in early October.
Given has been back in full training for the last 10 days or so but Saturday's game is likely to come too soon for him.
