Sunderland keeping tabs on injured striker, according to agent
Salvador Cabanas' agent insists Sunderland are still interested in the striker despite his horrific injury.
The Paraguay international, who had netted 18 goals in 24 games this season, was high on Steve Bruce's wishlist in the January transfer window but the 29-year-old was almost killed after being shot in the head last month.
Cabanas is recovering in hospital from the incident in Mexico City, which police believed was premeditated, and it is uncertain whether the Club America forward will be able to play football again.
But the player's representative Jose Maria Gonzalez claims the Black Cats are keeping tabs on the striker's progress and remain interested in signing one of the most prolific goalscorers in Mexican football if he makes a full recovery.
"I have talked to Steve Bruce and he told me if a miracle happens with Salvador and he recovers, he still wants him," said Gonzalez.
