Gulls sign free-agent Cooper

Torquay have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of former Portsmouth man Shaun Cooper on a free transfer.

Cooper has agreed to see out the season with the Gulls, with the option of an extra year, and should be available for their clash with Northampton on Saturday. The 30-year-old, who has been without a club since his exit from Fratton Park in December, had a trial with the club over the summer but a deal was never done.
