Portsmouth defender Jack Whatmough faces six months on the sidelines with a cruciate injury.
The 18-year-old centre-half suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage during Pompey's 2-2 draw with Cheltenham last week. Whatmough was already expected to miss the rest of the season but now looks unlikely to be fit in time for the start of next term. The England Under-19 international has made 24 appearances for Andy Awford's side this season.
