Eric Dier and Dele Alli to stay at Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino says

Mauricio Pochettino has stressed that Tottenham stars Eric Dier and Dele Alli are not for sale at any price.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested that 22-year-old Dier was unhappy with his utility status under Pochettino, with Bayern Munich and Chelsea rumoured to harbour an interest.

Alli, 20, has also been linked to some of Europe's leading clubs in the last fortnight including Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Premier League rivals Manchester City, but Pochettino insists both players will remain at White Hart Lane.

"It makes no sense because it is impossible for anyone to sign them," said the Argentine on Friday. 

"They are players who are in our plans today, tomorrow and for the future.

"We are very calm because they all extended their contracts four or five months ago. There are plenty of pictures."

Dier and Alli signed long-term contracts with the club in September, with the former signing a five-year deal and ex-MK Dons midfielder Alli committing to a new six-year contract.

In addition, the likes of Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen have all signed new deals with Spurs in the last month.

The only key first-team player yet to extend his deal at White Hart Lane is France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris but Pochettino is adamant that his star performers will not be sold.
