Andres Iniesta wants an end to the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding Barcelona team-mate Neymar.

Neymar, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp to Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks, was described as '90%' likely to leave the club', a source in Spain close to the player has told Sky Sports News.

Club captain Iniesta described Neymar as a "fundamental piece of the team", but believes the uncertainty over the Brazilian forward is having an unsettling influence on the squad.

"We consider him a fundamental piece of the team and aside from that, for the whole situation [want] all this noise to be clarified by the player himself or from the club," Iniesta said ahead of Barcelona's pre-season fixture against Real Madrid.

"We [as players] just want peace which will benefit everyone - the players, the club and everything surrounding it."

Iniesta, who has remained a one-club man throughout his career, would like for the club hierarchy to provide some clarity over Neymar's future or for the 25-year-old to announce his preference.

Iniesta added: "What is true is that because of the situation or because of what is being said about Neymar, it has bigger implications.

"For those of us who are practising or seeing what happens at each practice it is something unusual but it could happen.

A look at why Neymar might leave Barcelona for Paris St-Germain, with expert analysis and opinion.

"Maybe we would like it if things were all different so it wasn't the only thing being talked about but there is just one way {to stop this], which in this case is Neymar saying he has got something to say or he doesn't have anything to say.

"It is a personal issue. If everything that is being said is true then it [the transfer] will happen. But beyond that I think what the group wants is for him to stay with us."

Prior to the incident, Neymar scored the winning goal in Barcelona's 1-0 victory against Manchester United in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday.
