Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set to join Stoke on a three-year deal, according to Sky sources.

The Cameroonian striker is a free agent after leaving Schalke in the summer after three years at the Bundesliga side.

The 28-year-old, who scored three goals in 30 appearances for Schalke last season, represented his country at the World Cup in 2010 and 2014.

Stoke have signed Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea this summer and completed permanent deals for Josh Tymon and Darren Fletcher.

However, Marko Arnautovic and Jon Walters have both left the club, along with Glenn Whelan and Phil Bardsley, and Stoke are set to miss out on Mario Lemina after Southampton agreed a deal to sign the midfielder from Juventus.
