With the match at 0-0, Cardiff City winger Junior Hoilett had a great opportunity to open the scoring but managed to send his header wide from inside the six-yard box

Cardiff City's Junior Hoilett had a golden chance to open the scoring against Hull on Saturday evening, but somehow managed to head wide from inside the six yard box!

At this point, the Bluebirds had not quite moved into top gear in the game but had raced out of the blocks after the break in search of the game's opener.

Midfielder Joe Ralls floated a free-kick into the 18-yard area and Sol Bamba - who later scored the game's winner - headed the ball across goal to the Canada international at the far post.

But instead of turning the ball past Allan McGregor from just a matter of yards, Hoilett managed to misjudge his leap and send his poor connection wide of the mark.

Bamba spared his team-mate's blushes when he headed past McGregor minutes later, securing a slim 1-0 victory over Nigel Adkins' men that sees Cardiff maintain their pressure on Championship leaders Wolves.
