Arsenal transfer rumours: Max Meyer, Ever Banega, Calum Chambers

MUNICH, GERMANY - FEBRUARY 10: Max Meyer of Schalke plays the ball during the Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Muenchen and FC Schalke 04 at Allianz Aren

All the latest Arsenal transfer rumours, with updates on their potential pursuits of Max Meyer and Ever Banega.

Arsenal are among five clubs who have been offered the chance to sign Max Meyer this summer, reports Bild.

Meyer will officially become a free agent upon the expiry of his contract at Schakle on June 30.

Arsenal have been informed Meyer wants more than £4m-a-year in wages to commit to a new club, but the Gunners are unwilling to match those demands.

Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega has been linked with a reunion with former manager Emery at Arsenal, reports the Daily Express.

The 30-year-old Argentine playmaker could provide some balance to Emery's midfield as he continues his restructure at the Emirates.

Furthermore, Sevilla's acquisition of former Swansea midfielder Roque Mesa has fuelled speculation that Banega could be on his way to north London.

Calum Chambers is in advanced talks with Arsenal over a new contract, according to Sky sources, and an announcement is expected within the next week.

The 23-year-old signed a contract extension last year but is clearly highly regarded by new manager Unai Emery and the Gunners appear keen to agree a long-term deal.

Capped three times by England, the centre-back was in and out of the team under former boss Arsene Wenger and spent 2016/17 on loan with Middlesbrough.
