Former England captain Steven Gerrard says Gareth Southgate's side have "done the country proud" - and believes they will beat Croatia in their World Cup semi-final.
Before this year's tournament, they had failed to win a knockout tie in any competition since 2006, and will be appearing in their first last-four tie for 28 years.
Rangers manager Gerrard - who featured in seven major tournaments for England but never went further than the quarter-finals - said: "I've been so pleased to watch the players perform.
"I think they've done the country proud. It seems with every barrier that gets put in their way, they seem to be getting over it comfortably.
"I think tonight (Wednesday) will be the biggest test for them. Croatia deserve respect, they've got some wonderful players."
However, despite his praise for Croatia, Gerrard believes England are a "dangerous" side, and is confident they will set up a World Cup final against France.
"I do predict an England win", he said. "I think with the energy, the organisation, the confidence at the moment, England are a force.
"They are capable of going the whole way. England are a dangerous team in this competition."
