Leicester's development side suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to fourth-tier Bury in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night.

Dominic Telford gave the home side the lead as early as the fourth minute, but their task was then made all the more difficult after seeing Callum McFadzean dismissed 16 minutes in.

Tyrese Shade had Leicester level in the 21st minute from close range, but the visitors could not make the numerical advantage count.

The winner came courtesy Telford once again. Clever link-up play down the right between Ryan Cooney, Nicky Adams and Jamie Barjonas gave Barjonas the chance to get into the six-yard box and slide the ball across for Telford to roll the ball into the net for his second of the game.

In the evening's other fixture, a goal in each half saw Port Vale earn a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough.
