Winger wants to head back to England

Filipe Morais has turned down the offer of a new contract at St Johnstone and is set to leave the club. The Saints put fresh terms to the 24-year-old in the hope that he could be persuaded to remain in Scotland. However, the former Millwall and MK Dons winger has shunned their advances, indicating that he is keen to head back to England. Manager Derek McInnes is disappointed to see his efforts come to nothing, but admits he will now step up his search for a replacement. He told the club's official website: "Fil expressed an interest in finding a club in England and I believe he may be looking to get back to the London area. "I've not heard from his agent so, as far as I am concerned, we move on and search for a replacement."

Rehab

Meanwhile, midfielder Kevin Moon is making positive progress in his rehabilitation from a cruciate knee ligament injury. He has been out of action since mid-March but expects to return to the fold at some stage over the summer, with an upcoming visit to his surgeon set to give him a better of idea as to when he will be able to resume his career. Moon said: "I don't want to put a date on my likely return just now - I'll have a better idea once I have seen the surgeon. "In the meantime, I am just working on my fitness - not just around the injury but my upper body strength as well. I want to come back in better all-round shape than I have ever been in."
