Steve Evans and Tyrone Barnett are both in the running after the League Two Manager and Player of the Month nominations were announced.
Evans and Barnett nominated for August awards in League Two
The nominations for League Two Manager and Player of the Month for August have been announced, with Steve Evans and Tyrone Barnett in the running to make it an awards double for newly-promoted Crawley.
Crawley have made an impressive start to life in the Football League and boss Evans has been recognised for his role in their early success.
Another leading contender for the Manager of the Month award is Andy Scott, as it was Rotherham who topped the table after an unbeaten August before being overtaken by Crawley last weekend.
Jim Bentley of Morecambe and Shrewsbury's Graham Turner, who have also guided their teams to positions in the top five, are the other names on the shortlist for the award.
In the player category, Barnett makes the cut after netting four goals so far this season, but he faces competition from Izale McLeod, Mark Arber and Doug Loft.
Barnet striker McLeod is the division's leading scorer on six, Loft has contributed three goals from midfield for Port Vale, while Arber has been a key member of a Dagenham & Redbridge defence that has kept three clean sheets and conceded just four goals in six games.
The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News, from 10am.
