Arsenal manager ready to trim his squad of the fringe players

Arsene Wenger has revealed he still plans to add some players to his squad but the number will depend on how many depart Arsenal this summer. Wenger has already completed early deals for Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, while his first-team squad has been further swelled by the return of players from loan spells. The futures of these players remain uncertain and whether they stay or secure permanent deals away from the Emirates will have a direct impact on Wenger's spending.

Squad

"We are still looking to add one or two players but it depends also on how many go out because we have to respect the squad," Wenger told Arsenal Player. "It's important to respect that so before we get players in we have to get some players out. That has not happened yet, the market is very quiet. "I cannot tell you anything concrete about the situation [regarding those who might be leaving] because if they are not finding clubs they will stay here and be players of the squad. "At the moment I cannot give you any concrete or clear indication."
