Norwich manager Chris Hughton says the Canaries could make a late move in the transfer market if a deal is right for the club.

Canaries boss will be satisfied if no more signings are made

Norwich manager Chris Hughton says the Canaries could make a late move in the transfer market if a deal is right for the club. Hughton is thought to be still hunting a new striker ahead of Friday's deadline, with Brighton frontman Craig Mackail-Smith having been linked with a move to Carrow Road. The manager is not ruling out any late swoops but says if nothing materialises he is happy with the squad at his disposal. He said: "If there is any deal that is right for us we will endeavour to do it, but if not then I am delighted with the squad I have got." When asked if he would be pleased when the window slammed shut he added: "Yes I will be, as will every manager. To see the end of the window will make me very glad."

Delighted

Hughton is also looking forward to taking Norwich to Tottenham, where he served for 13 years as a player and 10 as assistant manager. He said: "I hope the team can put on a performance. I was delighted with the performance last week against QPR. It was a game we should have won. "Tottenham are a very good side. They show real quality in wide areas with Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale. They have good options up front and with Mousa Dembele coming in they have gathered a really good squad." On the capture of Alexander Tettey, a defensive midfielder from Rennes, Hughton added: "He has settled in really well but he had a few days when he missed training. "He will travel with us to Tottenham and I'll decide whether to put him on the bench."
