Slaven Bilic has confirmed Michail Antonio is out for the rest of the season

West Ham winger Michail Antonio is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed.

The 27-year-old pulled up with the injury against Swansea last weekend after previously having to withdraw from the England squad.

Speaking ahead of his side's trip to Sunderland on Saturday, Bilic confirmed at his Thursday press conference that the Hammers would be without Antonio for the rest of the campaign.

"It's a significant injury and he's out for the season," said Bilic.

"It's a big blow with Antonio because he has been good in every game. We have options up front with Andy Carroll and Jonathan Calleri."

Antonio has been a mainstay in the Hammers line-up since his transfer to east London from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015, in a £7m move.

Bilic often deployed Antonio in a right wing-back role this season, and in his two seasons with the club he has excelled, notching 18 goals.

He will miss six games in total, but it is not yet clear if he will be fit for England's World Cup Qualifier with Scotland on June 10.

"Mark Noble picked up a 10th yellow card [so he will miss the next two fixtures]," Bilic added. "Sam Byram got a little knock but he should be OK.

"Andy Carroll should be OK too and Aaron Cresswell returns to training today."
