Arsenal and France legend Emmanuel Petit opens up about his journey from tragedy to triumph in a brutally honest Premier League World documentary.
Raised in Normandy, where he embarked on a "perfect, happy childhood", Petit's family were torn apart in 1988 by the death of his brother, Olivier, while he was playing amateur football for Arques.
The documentary, on Sky Sports on Thursday, offers a fascinating insight into how the death of his brother spurred him on to become a World Cup-winning footballer.
"That was the first time I saw my father crying," Petit recalls. "He was smashing his head on the wall and kept saying 'this cannot be true'.
"My brother had so many talents and I still don't understand why this happened."
