David Wagner says fans should not be surprised by Huddersfield's poor November form

David Wagner says it "should not be a surprise" to fans that Huddersfield have experienced a poor run of form over the last month.

Huddersfield started the season well, losing once in their opening five games, but have struggled to maintain their form and move into December on the back of four straight defeats.

Wagner remains calm heading into the festive period and has backed his players to use their experience to bounce back from their losing streak.

"First of all I think this is not something we enjoy to have a few defeats in a row and not the best period," Wagner said.

"We have had experience in the Championship of having less successful periods and we were always able to bounce back.

"This shouldn't be a surprise that this happens in the Premier League and we will try everything to turn it around on Saturday."

Huddersfield only play one of the current top six during December, but Wagner insists his focus remains on the 'big' game against Brighton on Saturday rather than future games.

"I'm not worried about December the only thing I have in my head is Brighton," Wagner added.

"The next game at home, where we have a great opportunity to come to our best against an opponent with a very good manager with a lot of quality.

"We are aware how big this game is for us and we will do everything we can to extend our home record.

"For this we will need everybody in the stands, this is why I'm so confident and why I am so happy to be playing at the John Smith's Stadium again."
