The January transfer window may have closed, but clubs are not resting on what they have and plans are already underway for potential moves in the summer.

Our friends at Football Whispers have trawled the continental press to round up the latest transfer news.

GERMANY

Once Antoine Griezmann leaves Atletico Madrid, the Spanish club will move for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner to replace the France international. Griezmann is subject of Barcelona transfer rumours. (Bild)

Former Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi is being targeted by Borussia Dortmund to strengthen their squad in the summer. Valued at €15m by Real Sociedad, he is seen as a cheaper alternative to Manchester United transfer target Fabinho and Leander Dendoncker. BVB are still chasing Liverpool's Emre Can too. (Bild)

It is unlikely both Arturo Vidal and Leon Goretzka will play together at Bayern Munich. Although the Chilean midfielder wants to stay, the German league leaders are willing to sell the Chelsea transfer target, with his contract up in 2019. (Bild)

SPAIN

Spain's Prime Minister and Real Madrid fan Mariano Rajoy does not want to see Neymar arrive at the Bernabeu. "I wouldn't like to see Neymar in the white shirt," he said. "I don't know about [Kylian Mbappe] but Bale, Benzema and Cristiano were great, and within a few months, people are doubting them. We should have a bit more perspective. I believe in them." (Marca)

Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti hopes Zinedine Zidane won't be sacked as the club's manager. "I hope there is sanity and that it isn't Zidane's last chance," he said. However, he has admitted it would be a dream to one day coach Los Blancos. (Marca)

Classed as the weakest member of the BBC, the Real Madrid fans have turned on Karim Benzema and do not understand why Zidane still places faith in him. With two league goals in 16 appearances, the belief is, if picked, he needs to perform against Paris Saint-Germain, or it could be the last straw. (AS)

Lyon striker Mariano Diaz says it would be a dream to return to the Bernabeu and is backing his former club to progress against French rivals Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Mariano joined Lyon for €8m in the summer and has 14 goals in 24 games for OL this season. (Mundo Deportivo)

ITALY

Flamengo teenager Lincoln has emerged as a Milan transfer target. The 17-year-old is a Brazil youth international and is believed to have a €30m release clause. The price tag has not put the Italian side off and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli is keeping close watch on his progress. (Calciomercato)

Lazio are keen on Gent defender Samuel Gigot in the summer. The French centre-back is regarded as one of the best in his position in Belgium and the 24-year-old could be a possible replacement for Stefan de Vrij. (Corriere dello Sport)

FRANCE

Marseille face a possible issue with Financial Fair Play in the summer. The club has exceeded the €30m deficit over the past three seasons. It is thought to be within €10m, but enough to cause concern. The club hopes to show UEFA their plan of investment and avoid any heavy sanctions, which could range from a fine to being banned from European competition. (L'Equipe)
