Premier League moves Wolves vs Sheffield United to Saturday 8.15pm to avoid Prince Philip funeral clash

Only Premier League fixture kicking-off at same time as Duke of Edinburgh's funeral at Windsor has been moved to 8.15pm; EFL have told clubs to rearrange their 3pm fixtures between them to avoid clashing with the service; Rangers vs Celtic in Scottish Cup moved from Saturday to Sunday

Wolves Sheffield United

Premier League, EFL and Scottish football schedules have been adjusted "as a mark of respect" to avoid clashing with Saturday's funeral of Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh died at the age of 99 on Friday and his funeral will be held at St George's Chapel, Windsor, at 3pm on Saturday.

A national minute's silence will be held at that time and the FA is recommending that no games take place between 2.45pm and 4.15pm.

A minute's silence will take place before matches and black armbands worn.

Wolves-Sheff Utd moved

Wolves' Premier League match against Sheffield United on Saturday, live on Sky Sports, has been moved from a 3pm kick-off to 8.15pm.

Newcastle's earlier game against West Ham will kick-off at 12.30pm as planned.

The FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City at Wembley will remain at 17:30.

EFL confirms changes to schedule

EFL clubs, meanwhile, will arrange alternative kick-off times between them after the league confirmed none of its matches will kick off at 3pm on Saturday. It is possible some will play on Friday and others on Sunday.

In the Championship, Blackburn and Derby have brought forward their fixture at Ewood Park to Friday at 6pm, while Brentford-Millwall, Luton-Watford, Middlesbrough-QPR and Sheffield Wednesday-Bristol City have all been moved to Saturday 12.30pm.

Nottingham Forest-Huddersfield, Stoke-Preston and Swansea-Wycombe are yet to have their new kick-off times confirmed.

The EFL announced on Saturday that games would be moved from 3pm as British football paid tribute to His Royal Highness, who passed away at the age of 99, by observing silence and players wearing black armbands.

The Palace announced details of the ceremony, which will take place at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle at 3pm, when a national minute's silence will be observed. It will not involve any members of the public due to Covid19 restrictions.

In the Championship, Norwich can clinch promotion on Saturday with victory over Bournemouth and their kick-off will go ahead at 8pm as planned, so is not affected by the funeral.

In League One, Hull can move closer to promotion with victory over Fleetwood while in League Two, leaders Cheltenham will be looking to do the same when they visit Crawley Town.

Rangers-Celtic moved to Sunday; Saturday SPFL games to kick-off at 12pm

In Scotland, Rangers and Celtic's Scottish Cup fourth-round match has been moved to Sunday as the SFA and SPFL announced changes to their fixtures.

The Old Firm game was due to kick-off at 4pm on Saturday but has now been moved to 3pm on Sunday.

All of Saturday's SPFL fixtures originally planned to kick-off at 3pm have now been moved to 12pm starts.

This affects nine fixtures across the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two.
