Latics hope for Valencia and Palacios stay
Wigan have confirmed a number of clubs have shown an interest in Antonio Valencia and Wilson Palacios, but that they have yet to receive any official offers.
Manchester United and Liverpool are understood to be keen on £10million-rated winger Valencia, while Palacios has also caught the eye.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has told both players' agents that the pair would be best to remain at the JJB Stadium in order to develop under manager Steve Bruce.
And Whelan is optimistic that Wigan will be able to keep hold of their star assets this summer.
"There is interest in both players, and there's bound to be because they are quality," Whelan told the Manchester Evening News
"But we haven't had an offer from any club and we hope we won't have any at all.
"We are told their agents have advised them to stay at Wigan for at least another season so that they can continue to learn from Steve Bruce.
"We value them greatly because they're a couple of cracking lads and they seem happy to stay."
