Red Devils striker wary of talented youngsters

Carlos Tevez believes he must raise his game this season or risk losing his place in the Argentina side. The burly striker has enjoyed an eye-catching start to his career at Manchester United, forming a fearsome three-pronged strike force with Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. He is also an integral part of his national squad, but is all too aware that his homeland continues to produce talented youngsters. Argentina recently retained their Olympic title in Beijing, providing Tevez with added motivation to impress once again this season.

Incentive

"It will benefit me and Manchester United because I treasure playing for my country," Tevez told The Sun. "And I know from what I've seen in the Olympics that if any of us in the national team rest on our laurels, then these brilliant youngsters will have our places. "It's an incentive to work harder and win things all the time. "I know how strongly the youngsters will be pushing us - given that the same happened when I won the gold medal in Athens (in 2004)."
