Red Devils youngster delighted to be involved

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley insists he has not changed since breaking into Sir Alex Ferguson's first team. The 22-year-old has been given a chance at Old Trafford this season and he has grasped it with both hands. The former Bradford City youngster has enjoyed loan spells with the likes of Leicester, Watford and Wigan in the past. However, while Cleverley is now thriving with the Red Devils, he has not been affected by the hype as his reputation has grown.

"Although I feel I improved in pre-season, I am still the same player and the same guy," he said. "Just because I am playing in United's first team, that doesn't all of a sudden make me a great footballer. "It is a bit strange when people are talking about you but in my head I am still the same footballer who was sent out on loan to Wigan last year. "The only difference is that I am turning out for Manchester United now."

United maintained their impressive start to the new season with an incredible 8-2 success over rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford. The club strengthened with the likes of Ashley Young and Phil Jones this summer, adding a blend of youth to experience. Cleverley knows there is something exciting being built at Old Trafford, however, he insists his team-mates are not getting carried with their start. "Nobody wants to get too carried away," he continued. "But this is a youthful squad and it is exciting to be part of it. "Some of us younger lads don't know what it is like to win the Premier League yet but that is where the experience of others comes into it. "A few older players left the club in the summer but we have still got experience in abundance."
