Spaniards not worried about reported United interest in defender

Skysports.com understands Valencia have no plans to extend Adil Rami's contract after the defender was linked with Manchester United. Rami agreed a deal with Valencia last January, but finished the season on loan at former club Lille before moving to the Mestalla on a four-year contract in the summer. The France international, who was named in last season's Ligue 1 Team of the Year, has continued to impress during his time in La Liga. He has reportedly been watched by scouts from Premier League champions United in recent weeks, but Valencia are not worried about losing Rami. The centre-half has a €25million (£21.4m) release clause in his contract, but it is understood that Los Che have no immediate plans to increase that figure or extend his deal. Valencia's financial problems have led to the club being forced to cash in on the likes of David Villa, Juan Mata and David Silva over the past 18 months. However, the club are not under the same pressure as in the past and only a huge offer would persuade Valencia to consider selling Rami so soon after his arrival.
