Inter Milan director Gabriele Oriali claims Frank Lampard 'really wants' to join the club.

Serie A champions also agree a deal to sign Roma's Mancini

Inter Milan director Gabriele Oriali claims Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard 'really wants' to join the Italian champions. Chelsea have rejected an £8million bid from Inter for Lampard, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract. Lampard has been unable to agree terms on an extension, but the Blues are determined not to sell the 30-year-old. Chief executive Peter Kenyon has stated that the England international will see out his deal at Stamford Bridge, even if a new contract cannot be agreed. Serie A giants Inter, coached by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, accept the Blues' position, but say Lampard wants to move to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Certain

"We have done everything that we can, but we can't force Chelsea to let him go," Oriali said on Premium Calcio 24. "What is certain is that the player really wants to come to Inter." Meanwhile, Inter have agreed a deal with rivals Roma to sign Brazilian winger Mancini, with the transfer to be finalised in the coming days. Oriali told Sky Sport Italia: "Both sides are satisfied. "We hope that Mancini can do as well as Cristian Chivu has for us and become an important player."
