Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has reaffirmed his stance on Ashley Cole saying that the England defender will be staying put at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season.
The full-back has been linked with a move to Real Madrid where former Blues boss Jose Mourinho - now in the hot seat at the Bernabeu, is a known admirer of the 29-year-old having brought the player to Chelsea four years ago.
Ancelotti has refused to budge on his hardline stance over the 29-year-old, who is less than a year into a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
"I read that Ashley Cole wants to leave," said Ancelotti.
"My answer was I want Ashley Cole to stay at Chelsea because he's a fantastic player and there is no price for which (I would) sell him."
Comparisons
Ancelotti confirmed that he had heard nothing from Madrid about Cole and also rubbished comparisons with the departure of Joe Cole and the experienced defender.
"Joe Cole was a financial problem - it was not a technical problem.
"They didn't achieve an agreement with the club about his salary. This is not the problem of Ashley Cole.
"Ashley Cole has a contract - I don't know how long is his contract - and you want to respect this."
