Liverpool are close to rewarding goalkeeper Simon Mignolet with a new contract, according to Sky sources.
The 27-year-old has come under fire this season after a number of errors, but the Belgium international looks set to sign a new deal that will keep him at Anfield to 2020.
Mignolet joined Liverpool from Sunderland in the summer of 2013 for £9m having started his career with Belgian side St Truiden.
The 'keeper was heavily criticised for his efforts in a 2-2 draw at home with West Brom in December.
He was blamed, along with the defence, for both the Liverpool goals, but manager Jurgen Klopp jumped to Mignolet's defence and said: "Simon came out of his goal and wanted to reach the ball and that's how I work."
Some speculation suggested Klopp was keen on recruiting a new goalkeeper, but the latest news from Anfield would suggest Klopp still has plenty of faith in Mignolet.
Mignolet will return to goalkeeper duties on Wednesday night for the Anfield clash with Arsenal after Adam Bogdan started in the FA Cup 2-2 draw with Exeter.
